OIL & GAS SENIOR ACCOUNTANT – FT, Corpus Christi, TX. Duties: reg. accounting duties plus: Manage working interest joint accounts & associated receivables, bill working interests, & serve as liaison b/n working interest owners & operator; Develop/lead 1-2 junior accountants for financials & closing of books; Issue monthly revenue disbursements to working interest & royalty owners; Prepare & analyze operating expenses, workover actual & estimates variance explanations; Review Joint operating agreements in accordance w/ COPAS policies & procedures; conduct monthly calculation & processing ofSeverance Tax returns & amendments for combined Magnum group; File State Sales Tax returns; Research & issue Sales Tax exemptions; Prepare monthly financial reports of O&G Revenue; Calculate &process royalties due to Federal/state agencies; Prepare internal financial statements for combined Magnum Group. Min Reqts: Master’s in accounting + 3 yrs exp. in O&G accounting or Bachelor’s in accounting + 5 yrs exp. in O&G accounting. Must have knowledge of concepts of O&G mineral rights, O&G leases, royalty, surface rights, joint interest partners, mineral interest ownership, & basic legal principles that apply to mineral title ownership; COPAS accounting procedures; techniques for measurements of qualities of O&G & condensate produced from wells; terms of contracts for sale of O&G, condensate, & natural gas liquids products; O&G accounting software, including cash, receivables,inventories, leaseholds, equipment, payables, owners equity accounts, joint interest billings, revenue disbursements & other modules; Texas Sales Tax statues specifically Comptroller's rules governing O&G well services & various exemptions; Federal BLM Leases & familiarity w/ ONRR's EMARF Royalty & rental payment process; Familiarity w/ Texas Comptroller's Natural Gas & Crude Software, Texas GLO's Royalty Reporting & Control System & TEXNET.
